I am the Head of Division in charge of Tariff and Customs Procedures at the ECOWAS Commission. With almost twenty (20) years of professional experience including 17 years at the Customs Union and Taxation Directorate of the ECOWAS Commission, I have actively contributed to the consolidation of the ECOWAS Free Trade Area, and improvement of intra-Community trade indices in the West African region. As part of my responsibility, I monitor and manage the Preferential Tariff treatment christened ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) the ECOWAS Common External Tariff (CET) and the ECOWAS transit procedure in our region. From the technical point of view, I am responsible for the implementation of ECOWAS Regulation on customs matters by all Member States. I additionally oversee and monitor the automation ECOWAS Common External Tariff (CET), the ECOWAS automated Transit System (SIGMAT) and other Customs Procedures within our region. I additionally oversee and monitor the automation of all customs instruments in ECOWAS.
