The International Asssociation of Professional customs Agents – ASAPRA founded in Viña del Mar, Chile in 1969. Its main objective is to promote and defend the validity of Customs and Customs Agents, ensuring agile, safe and predictable trade; adopting effective measures to eliminate illegal trafficking of goods that affect the security of international trade. It has signed letters of understanding and collaboration agreements with the WCO, ALADI, CONFIAD, IFCBA, ALACAT, CAN, SIECA, among other institutions.
ASAPRA associates more than 40,000 professionals from Argentina, Bolivia, Belize, Brazil, Canada Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Jamaica, El Salvador, Spain, United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela and future members from Asia; consolidating a broad and diverse network of collaboration and cooperation in the customs field at an international level.
It is important to highlight that ASAPRA holds the Presidency of the Regional Private Sector Group of the Americas and the Caribbean of the WCO, an instance in which it participates purposefully through the presentation of studies in areas related to trade facilitation, technology, diversity of gender, environmental responsibility and the incorporation of SMEs in international trade.
