Miguel De La Rubia has over 24 years of professional experience in the nuclear, radiological, and customs security fields. For the past 10 years, he has worked at the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT), within the Department of Customs and Excise Duties, focusing on security and non-intrusive inspection of goods. His work involves advanced inspection technologies such as X-ray imaging, gamma radiation systems, and backscatter scanners, as well as technical evaluation, regulatory compliance, procurement, and operational efficiency in customs environments.
Previously, he spent 7 years at the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear), where he worked as an inspector of nuclear power plants, specializing in operational radiological protection and regulatory oversight.
Earlier in his career, he worked for 7 years at the José Cabrera Nuclear Power Plant, involved first in plant operation and later in the engineering activities related to its decommissioning. He holds a degree in physics and regularly collaborate in national and international technical forums.
