H.E Alia AlMarmoom is the Executive Director of the Customs Affairs Sector at the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security. With more than 20 years of experience in the customs field, she is the first Emirati woman to hold this position. She represents UAE Customs at both GCC and international levels and oversees policies related to customs regulation, trade facilitation, port security, and international cooperation. Her work focuses on strengthening national and international partnerships, enhancing the effectiveness of free zones, and balancing enforcement measures with trade facilitation to combat illicit trade. She is actively engaged in the exchange of best practices and capacity-building initiatives, contributing to the development of forward-looking strategies that support the UAE’s competitiveness and global standing.
