Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, PhD (Leadership and Security Studies), MFR, is Chair of the World Customs Organization Council and Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service. With 30+ years of customs administration experience spanning seaports, land borders, and airport operations, he has advanced through operational, public relations, capacity building, and strategic policy roles. His tenure as Comptroller-General has transformed the NCS through balanced integration of trade facilitation, compliance-driven revenue assurance, and intelligence-led enforcement—delivering record-breaking revenue performance while implementing digital systems gaining national and international recognition. Adeniyi's strategic leadership combines doctoral expertise in Leadership and Security Studies in Nigeria with Harvard Kennedy School education and roles spanning operational, strategic, and doctrine functions. His leadership focuses on critical global imperatives: AfCFTA operationalisation, digital supply chain transformation, and customs' evolving security role. As Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and Member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, he brings intellectual rigor and stakeholder engagement excellence to visionary institutional leadership, advancing administrations from reform design to sustained delivery.
